Anyone whose life has been touched by cancer is invited to attend “Living in Full Bloom: A Celebration of Cancer Survivorship,” hosted by Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center on Sunday, June 10. The event is free and open to all.
Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center has joined with co-sponsors, the American Cancer Society and the Tennessee Comprehensive Cancer Control Coalition, to offer this event to celebrate cancer survivors, their family and friends and health care professionals who care for cancer patients.
Offered in conjunction with National Cancer Survivors Day, “Living in Full Bloom” will be held inside the Vanderbilt Student Life Center, 310 25th Avenue South (two blocks off West End Avenue). A festive reception and exhibits from community organizations will open at 2 p.m. The program will follow from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

- Keynote speaker Ron Williams, pediatric cancer survivor and paralympian
- Music by Deep Grooves Steel Drum Band
- Kids activities
- Survivorship ceremony
Hear first-person stories of five cancer survivors
- Sonny's Story: both a multiple myeloma and leukemia survivor
- Kathy’s Story: a breast cancer survivor
- Pete’s Story: a lung cancer survivor
- Devin’s Story: a childhood leukemia survivor
- Ellie’s Story: a Ewings’ sarcoma survivor
