Lifestyle Issues During Long-Term Recovery

To maintain optimum health, blood and marrow transplant recipients inevitably must make some adjustments in the way they live. You will need to stay aware of certain things that might adversely affect you, such as foods that carry a higher risk for causing food-borne illness and overactivity that can cause fatigue.

However, even with these changes, you can take comfort in knowing that most transplant patients transition with relative ease to these lifestyle changes.  To learn more about dealing with life after transplant, see Stages of Recovery at the National Marrow Donor Program.
