A colony-stimulating factor that stimulates the production of neutrophils (a type of white blood cell). Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor is a cytokine that is a type of hematopoietic (blood-forming) agent. Also called filgrastim, G-CSF, Neupogen, and Zarxio.
