Video: Hear From Cancer Survivors

Clinical Trials: Hope for the Future

Note: Due to its size, this video may be choppy on some computers.

The Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) advocacy program has partnered with colleagues in the Vanderbilt University theatre program to produce a video targeted to cancer patients who would like to learn more about clinical trials. Clinical Trials: Hope for the Future is a 10-minute video available to all patients and their families on-line and will be included in the patient handbook, “Tools for Learning” for all newly diagnosed cancer patients.

The idea for this video came from a group of VICC patient advocates who felt that it would be helpful for patients to hear Vanderbilt physicians, research nurses, cancer survivors and caregivers answer important questions about clinical trials. A key part of this video is that viewers have the chance to hear personal stories from patients or their caregivers who have participated in a clinical trial.
