Profile

Dr. Cmelak is the Senior Medical Director for the Department of Radiation Oncology as well as for the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center at Franklin.  He trained at both Northwestern University and Stanford University. He is a recognized leader in cancer treatments utilizing radiation therapy with novel chemotherapy agents and provides comprehensive radiation treatment for patients with brain cancer using the latest technologies including stereotactic radiosurgery.

Clinical Research Description

Dr. Cmelak is the Principal Investigator in Head and Neck carcinomas and Intracranial Neoplasms at Vanderbilt University. He will train Residents in these disciplines and will participate in multidisciplinary conferences and specialty clinics in these areas. Dr. Cmelak will also train Residents in conducting prospective clinical trials. He will also train Residents in the use of stereotactic radiosurgery and intravascular brachytherapy.
