Dr. Hande is a medical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of carcinoma of the unknown primary site, phase I drug development, carcinoid tumors, lung cancer and sarcomas. His clinical research interests are in the pharmacology of drugs used in cancer therapy with a focus in the metabolism, elimination, toxicity and efficacy of antineoplastic agents.

Dr. Hande is a medical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of carcinoma of the unknown primary site, phase I drug development, carcinoid tumors, lung cancer and sarcomas. His clinical research interests are in the pharmacology of drugs used in cancer therapy with a focus in the metabolism, elimination, toxicity and efficacy of antineoplastic agents. He is also involved in Phase I studies evaluating toxicity, optimal dosing and pharmacokinetics of new drugs or drug combinations.

Dr. Hande is involved in training physicians to become specialists in hematology and oncology and to develop careers in clinical cancer research. In this role, Dr. Hande helps oversee a training program that includes all aspects of clinical hematology/oncology and laboratory-based research opportunities.

From 2002-2014, Dr. Hande has been listed as one of the "top doctors" in the nation in America's Top Doctors rankings. He has served as a consultant to the National Cancer Institute on many review panels.
