Dr. Hande is a medical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of carcinoma of the unknown primary site, phase I drug development, carcinoid tumors, lung cancer and sarcomas. His clinical research interests are in the pharmacology of drugs used in cancer therapy with a focus in the metabolism, elimination, toxicity and efficacy of antineoplastic agents.

Dr. Hande is a medical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of carcinoma of the unknown primary site, phase I drug development, carcinoid tumors, lung cancer and sarcomas. His clinical research interests are in the pharmacology of drugs used in cancer therapy with a focus in the metabolism, elimination, toxicity and efficacy of antineoplastic agents. He is also involved in Phase I studies looking at the toxicity optimal dosing and pharmacokinetics of new drugs or drug combinations.

As Associate Director of the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program, he is involved in training physicians to become specialists in hematology and oncology.  In this role, Dr. Hande helps oversee a training program that includes all aspects of clinical hematology/oncology and laboratory-based research opportunities. 

In 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 Dr. Hande was listed as one of the "top doctors" in the nation in America's Top Doctors rankings.
