Dr. Lomis is an Assistant Professor of Surgery, director of theClerkship in Surgery and director of the Third-year Inter-sessions. Herclinical practice is composed of general surgery, emergency surgery andbreast surgery. Dr. Lomis received her B.S. from the University ofTexas at Austin in 1988 and her M.D. from the University TexasSouthwestern in 1992. She trained in general surgery at VanderbiltUniversity Medical Center from 1992-1997. Dr. Lomis initially chose theprivate practice sector upon completing her residency, returning toVanderbilt in 2002. She is actively involved in the education ofstudents and residents, and is involved with curricular revision. Sheis a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of numerousregional and national organizations, including the Association of WomenSurgeons, the Association for Surgical Education, the AMA, and sheserves as a delegate to the TMA for the Nashville Academy of Medicine.
