Ms. Rutherford is a certified genetic counselor with expertise in hereditary cancers.  She joined the Vanderbilt Department of Medicine in the Division of Genetic Medicine as an Assistant in Medicine in 2013.  Ms. Rutherford currently manages the specialized Hereditary Cancer Telephone Clinic for the Hereditary Cancer Program.

Ms. Rutherford is a certified genetic counselor with expertise in hereditary cancers.  She joined the Vanderbilt Department of Medicine in the Division of Genetic Medicine as an Assistant in Medicine in 2013. 

Ms. Rutherford currently manages the specialized Hereditary Cancer Telephone Clinic for the Hereditary Cancer Program.  In each phone conversation, she introduces the patient to the clinic, obtains and constructs a family cancer pedigree.  Ms. Rutherford is also active in developing the Hereditary Cancer Registry.

Ms. Rutherford received her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Humanities from Hiram College, Hiram Ohio, in 2010. She completed her Master’s of Science in Medical Genetics at the University of Cincinnati/ Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center Genetic Counseling Training Program in 2012, and earned her certification from the American Board of Genetic Counselors in 2014.
