Non-CRC Metastasis to Liver

As discussed in other sections, there are several clear indications for the direct surgical therapy of primary liver tumors and colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver. It is also accepted that neuroendocrine and renal cancer that has spread to the liver alone should be considered for resection. Beyond these disease processes the role of liver surgery in the treatment of metastatic disease is less clear. The following section will review the general issues surrounding making a decision to undertake liver surgery for the treatment of metastases from noncolorectal, nonneuroendocrine, nonrenal cell tumors.
