Cancer Clinic Renovation News
The Henry-Joyce Cancer Clinic at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center is begining a major renovation and expansion. When this project is completed in late 2008, we will have doubled our square footage, the number of rooms for exams and consultations, and the number of chairs for giving chemotherapy.
Renovation Starts May 15, 2007
Some key points to remember about the temporary move
- Parking will remain the same in the Central Garage, and valet parking will continue to be available at the main entrance of the Vanderbilt Clinic. For more information, see Parking and Directions During Renovation.
- Watch for directions on black signs with the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center logo.
- Volunteers will be on hand to direct you. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have questions!
Phase 1
May 14, 2007-December 2007: Complete renovation and expansion of the current Henry-Joyce Cancer Clinic on the first floor of the Vanderbilt Clinic.
- The current exam rooms in the Cancer Clinic will move up to the second floor of the Vanderbilt Clinic (TVC). You can continue to enter TVC at this main entrance, but instead of veering left into the former clinic entrance, you will proceed straight ahead to the elevators. These elevators are located just past the information desk, within sight and only a short walk from the entrance. Go to the Second Floor (Suite 2900, directly above the current location).
- The Chemotherapy Infusion Center will remain in its current location, with a new check-in area just outside the center next to the elevators, until the new center is complete in mid-2008.
- The Radiation Oncology Center will remain in its current location in the basement of the Preston Research Building.
Phase 2
January 2008-June 2008: Construction of a new chemotherapy infusion center on the second floor the Vanderbilt Clinic
- The exam rooms in the Cancer Clinic will move back to a newly designed area on the first floor.
Phase 3
June 2008-December 2008: Creation of a new entrance off the Frances Williams Preston Building lobby, with a warm and comfortable waiting area, new resource center and expanded registration area.
Completion is currently scheduled for around November, 2008
