Executive Committee

Partnership Oversight is through an Executive Committee which consists of members from Meharry Medical College (MMC) and Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC). Representatives from each institution are listed below.

The Executive Committee meets monthly to oversee progress of the Comprehensive Partnership and to explore avenues of further collaboration. Meetings usually occur in the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance conference room in Palmer Plaza, located equidistant between the two medical center campuses. The Executive Committee reviews progress on all pilot projects and shared resources annually based on a formal progress reports. Final decisions will be made by this committee concerning termination of pilot project funding and the awarding of new pilot or full projects.

The Executive Committee works with the faculty to encourage publication and R01 grant submissions at the appropriate time and to assure that proper mentoring is provided for preparation of grant applications.

The Executive Committee also oversees faculty recruitment. Search committees composed of faculty from both MMC and VICC are appointed by this group. Based on the recommendation of the search committee and after consultation with MMC senior leadership and the appropriate departmental chairs, final decisions concerning which candidates will be offered a position will be made by the Executive Committee.
