MMC/VICC Partnership : Planning & Evaluation
Ph.D. Cancer Training Oversight Committee
The members of this committee are Drs. Samuel E. Adunyah and Josiah Ochieng from Meharry Medical College, and Drs. Harold L. Moses and Lynn Matrisian from VICC. The Cancer Training Oversight Committee (CTOC) meets bi-annually to evaluate the academic and research progress of each MMC Ph.D. student supported in this program. Progress reports will be provided to the Executive Committee. The CTOC makes recommendations to the Executive Committee regarding termination or continuation of support for each student. The committee depends on student performance records made available by the Committee of Instruction (COI) and by the mentors of each student. Dr. Adunyah is the Graduate Training Director of the Biochemistry Department. Dr. Ochieng serves on the Evaluation Committee of Meharry's School of Graduate Studies and Research. Both Drs. Adunyah and Ochieng are also heavily involved in training the students whom this program supports. Drs. Moses and Matrisian are experienced with graduate training at Vanderbilt University and both are Program Directors for an NCI training grant
