“Biography” Will Shine Spotlight on VICC and Care of Terminally Ill Patients

November 30, 2007

Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and Madan Jagasia, M.D., M.S., assistant professor of Medicine, and director of the Outpatient Stem Cell Transplant Program, will be featured in a TV special to premiere on the Biography Channel, Wednesday, December 5, at 10 p.m. The hour-long documentary, “Six Months,” focuses on two individuals, including former Vanderbilt-Ingram patient Janice Chaffee, and takes an unflinching look at how patients with a terminal diagnosis choose to spend their final six months. Jagasia coordinated the Cancer Center’s care for Chaffee, who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Chaffee, 55, a Nashville author, chose to write about her experience as part of her legacy for her family.

The program will air again on Biography, Saturday, December 15, at noon.
