The Pasley Family Searching for Strength After Twins Go Five Rounds with Pediatric Cancer
Redbook and CureSearch are currently featuring the story of the Pasley Family and their heroic battle with pediatric cancer.
"Eight years ago, identical twins Jade and Jillian Pasley had barely celebrated their first birthdays when their parents, Jessica and Irvin, got devastating news: Jade had acute myelogenous leukemia, a cancer with only a 50 percent survival rate. Doctors warned that Jillian would develop the disease as well..."
The Pasleys have created “Jade’s Fund.” The fund helps families served at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt through the childhood cancer program at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
Jade's Fund
Jade's Fund helps families of children undergoing cancer treatment at the Monroe Carell Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt with every day living expenses that typically fall behind when a child is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, requiring a parent to stop working. The fund was started to honor the memory of Jade Pasley, who lost her battle with leukemia in 2000 at age 2. Her twin sister, Jillian, is currently being treated for leukemia. The fund is housed in the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. If you are interested in assisting families through Jade's Fund, please send contributions to VICC Gift Records, VU Station B 3577727, Nashville, Tenn., 37235-7727 or call (615) 936-0233.
