Breast Cancer Clinician, Researcher Joins Vanderbilt-Ingram

Vandana Gupta Abramson, M.D.Vandana Gupta Abramson, M.D., has joined Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center as an assistant professor of Medicine.

Abramson will be opening a practice for breast cancer patients in addition to her research in clinical and translational studies of novel agents in the treatment of breast cancer.

She comes to VICC from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, where she was an instructor in Hematology/Oncology.

Abramson received her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of California, Berkeley, and her M.D. from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine, where she graduated with honors and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical society.

She served her residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and was a Fellow in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania.

“We are pleased to welcome such a gifted clinician and translational researcher to our breast cancer program,” said David Johnson, M.D., deputy director of Vanderbilt-Ingram.

“We have an exceptionally talented group of breast cancer specialists and Vandana is a great addition to this team.”
