Collaborative Shared Resource Pilot Projects

‚ÄčVanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center announces the availability of funding (up to $35,000) for cancer-relevant collaborative projects that utilize our Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) supported Shared Resources. The intent is to demonstrate rapid impact of shared resource services in support of high quality science in basic, clinical and population sciences research. The projects and outcomes will be highlighted in the upcoming CCSG competing renewal application. Applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • Scientific quality and feasibility
  • Use of CCSG-supported shared resources
  • Track record of applicants
  • Compatibility with scientific goals and strategic plan of the VICC and its research programs
  • Ability to have high impact within a short timeframe (6 months) through use of share resources

Interested investigators must submit proposal materials to the VICC in order to be considered for this funding opportunity no later than December 6, 2013 at 4 pm. The materials will be reviewed by an internal review committee and are to include:

  • PHS 398 Face Page
  • Project Summary/Key Personnel (PHS 398 Form Page 2)
  • PHS 398 Budget and Budget Justifications
  • 1 page title, specific aims and brief description of the collaborative relationship of investigators and planned shared resource contribution/usage
  • A description of the proposed research (no more than three pages) to include significance, innovation, approach and preliminary data (if available)
  • References (one page maximum)
