NCCN Request For Proposals (RFPs) Announcement
The National Comprehensive Cancer Network is pleased to announce it has received a $2 million dollar grant from Abraxis BioScience, Inc. that provides funding for NCCN investigator-initiated clinical studies (with supportive preclinical or translational component) relating to the use of Abraxane® in solid tumors.
The Request For Proposals (RFP; PDF format) clearly outlines the scope and process that will be followed for submission of proposals.
In brief, investigators are asked to submit a short proposal detailing a proposed study. The aim of this RFP is to:
- better understand the mechanisms of action of Abraxane® in patients and provide information related to patients most likely to benefit from Abraxane® treatment,
- provide a measure of clinical efficacy and tolerability of treatment, and
- evaluate predictive markers of efficacy. Collaborative studies between NCCN members are encouraged.
Proposals are due Monday, November 26, 2007. For further information contact Debbie Hampton, Manager, Oncology Research Program, at (215) 690-0230 or via email at Hampton@nccn.org.
The NCCN views this major award by Abraxis BioScience, Inc. as clear recognition of the advantages offered to industry through the NCCN Oncology Research Program. We hope you and your colleagues will be interested in this opportunity.
