GI SPORE Pilot Project Funding Opportunity
The SPORE in GI Cancer is pleased to announce the availability of pilot project grants for the conduct of basic, translational, or clinical research on the cause, prevention, detection, control, or treatment of GI cancers. Original projects with the potential to develop into independent R01 grants with a focus on GI cancers are encouraged.
ELIGIBILITY: Pilot project funding is open to all faculty at Vanderbilt University, Meharry Medical College, and Tennessee State University.
Up to $50,000 will be awarded for a one-year period. All applications will be evaluated by peer review. The anticipated date of funding is January 1, 2016.
Proposals must conform to the following guidelines and must be submitted as a single PDF file.
1.) Application Face Page (form used to collect basic information)
2.) Detailed budget and justification
3.) Proposal limited to 5 pages (Arial font size 11) as follows:
a. Specific aims (1 page)
b. Background and significance
c. Experimental design
4.) Literature cited
5.) NIH biosketches for all faculty participants
The deadline for submission is October 5, 2015.
