Survey and Biospecimen Shared Resource
The Survey and Biospecimen Shared Resource provides high-quality survey and laboratory services to support Vanderbilt investigators conducting population-based research, as well as "wet lab" capabilities for investigators without these facilities. These services: eliminate overlap in the collection and processing of survey data and biologic samples, staff training and subject recruitment; enhance quality control protocols; and allow Cancer Center members access to significant expertise and experience in epidemiologic research in a cost-efficient and cost-reducing manner.
Survey Research Shared Resource
The Survey Component offers a wide range of research services available to support investigators at Vanderbilt University needing to conduct survey research. The SRSR provides services to Vanderbilt investigators related to the development and implementation of telephone, web and mixed mode surveys including consultation for study design or implementation, programming, participant enrollment, computer-assisted telephone interviewing, medical record review and study mailings.
Biospecimen (Molecular Epidemiology Laboratory)
Laboratory services of the Biospecimen Component include biospecimen processing, storage and retrieval, DNA/RNA extraction, and biospecimen requisitions from three large prospective cohort studies and several large case-control studies.
