Purchase Cancer Group was founded by Dr. Charles F. Winkler in 1986 and has grown to include four Board Certified medical oncologists, two nurse practitioners, and 12,000 active patients. The practice has four satellite clinics located in Mayfield and Draffenville, Kentucky and Paris and Union City, Tennessee. A fifth clinic is slated to open in Murray, Kentucky summer 2007.
The staff at Purchase Cancer Group offers a full-range of medical hematology and oncology services including access to clinical trials for which Dr. William Conkright and Dr. Elpidia Balbastro serve as Principal Investigators. Patients receive extensive education regarding their courses of treatment, and a triage nursing staff serves as the liaison between the patient and the physician. Chemotherapy administration is offered at all practice locations with laboratory services available on-site.
