Profile

Michelle Martin-Pozo, Ph.D., is the Director of Research and Education Administration, which includes oversight and management of research and education administration priorities and operations for Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. She previously served as Director of Research Programs for Susan G. Komen, the world’s largest nonprofit organization funding breast cancer research and patient and family treatment and support programs. Prior to joining Komen in 2010 as a Scientific Grants Manager, she was a Research Instructor in the Department of Cancer Biology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). During her time at VUMC, she developed and validated optical and MRI-based imaging in animal models for the study of early breast cancer metastasis and response to therapy in the liver, lung and brain. She was awarded a Department of Defense Concept Award and a Career Development Award. She was also the recipient of the Brigid G. Leventhal Scholar Award in Cancer Research from the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).
