I am a practicing cancer rehabilitation physiatrist. I completed a residency training program in physical medicine and rehabilitation followed by a fellowship in cancer rehabilitation. My training provided a foundation of medical knowledge, physiatric principles, rehabilitation care and the specialized needs of cancer survivors. In my practice, I diagnose and treat musculoskeletal, neuromuscular symptoms and pain as well as other functional or mobility impairments.

My research experience began during residency training through a project on return to education after spinal cord injury. Later in training as I finalized my subspecialty decision my research interests shifted to cancer rehabilitation. I published articles on functional impairments in cancer rehabilitation and also presented at national meetings. Throughout training I became involved in resident education and have begun to explore this area and published a letter to the editor and am working on a systematic review. My long-term research goals are to advance the body of literature supporting the practice of cancer rehabilitation, promote further awareness of the vital role pf physiatry in cancer care and survivorship and enhance physical medicine and rehabilitation resident education in cancer rehabilitation. Through collaborations I hope to continue to develop these skills.
