Vanderbilt was the lead site for an NIH-funded, phase 2, multicenter influenza vaccine study in pediatric allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HCT) recipients that may lead to a change in the current flu vaccine recommendations in this vulnerable population. Nab-Paclitaxel and Gemcitabine Hydrochloride in Treating Teenagers or Young Adults with Recurrent or Refractory Osteosarcoma, Ewing Sarcoma, Rhabdomyosarcoma, or Soft Tissue Sarcoma

This phase II trial studies how well nab-paclitaxel and gemcitabine hydrochloride work in treating teenagers or young adults with osteosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, or soft tissue sarcoma that has come back (recurrent) or does not respond to treatment (refractory). Chemotherapy drugs, such as nab-paclitaxel and gemcitabine hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading.

A Study of Zilovertamab Vedotin (MK-2140) in Combination With Standard of Care in Participants With Relapsed or Refractory Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (rrDLBCL) (MK-2140-003)

The purpose of this Phase 2/3, randomized, multisite, open-label, dose confirmation, and
expansion study is to evaluate the safety, and efficacy of zilovertamab vedotin (ZV) in
combination with standard of care options for the treatment of rrDLBCL. This study will be
divided into 2 parts: Dose Confirmation (Part 1) and Efficacy Expansion (Part 2) and will
enroll participants who are at least 18 years of age with rrDLBCL. The hypotheses are: ZV in
combination with rituximab, gemcitabine, and oxaliplatin (R-GemOx) is superior to R-GemOx
with respect to progression-free survival (PFS) per Lugano response criteria by blinded
independent review committee (BICR); and that ZV in combination with bendamustine rituximab
(BR) is superior to BR with respect to PFS per Lugano response criteria by BICR.

Cisplatin and Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Children and Young Adults with Hepatoblastoma or Liver Cancer After Surgery
Multiple Cancer Types
This partially randomized phase II/III trial studies how well, in combination with surgery, cisplatin and combination chemotherapy works in treating children and young adults with hepatoblastoma or hepatocellular carcinoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, doxorubicin, fluorouracil, vincristine sulfate, carboplatin, etoposide, irinotecan, sorafenib, gemcitabine and oxaliplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving combination chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells than one type of chemotherapy alone.

This phase II trial compares two treatment combinations: gemcitabine hydrochloride and nab-paclitaxel, or fluorouracil, leucovorin calcium, and liposomal irinotecan in older patients with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other places in the body (metastatic). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride, nab-paclitaxel, fluorouracil, leucovorin calcium, and liposomal irinotecan, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. This study may help doctors find out which treatment combination is better at prolonging life in older patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer.
