Profile

Dr. Wilson is a faculty member of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. After receiving his Ph.D from the University of Melbourne, he received post-doctoral training in New York. He was then recruited to Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt to identify novel epigenetic treatment strategies for ovarian cancer.

Specifically, he is exploring new ways to sensitize chemoresistant, high-grade serous ovarian tumors to established DNA damaging chemotherapeutic agents, such as PARP inhibitors, using bromodomain and histone deacetylase inhibitors. He is also focused on understanding the effectiveness and toxicities of immune therapies, particularly targeting tumor-associated macrophages, in unique syngeneic mouse models of ovarian cancer. Dr. Wilson is supported by federal, foundation and industry grants, and has published extensively in these areas of study.
